Raintree Farm offers lessons in dressage, English riding, carriage driving, and lungeing. Instruction can be given on your horse or on one of our horses.

Our Professional Trainer

Tineke G. Leijenaar grew up in the North of The Netherlands, Friesland. She began taking riding lessons at the age of six and broke her first horse, an Arabian mare, at the age of eight. Tineke attended AOC-Friesland in Leeuwarden, an agriculture school. She studied equine and dairy farm management in college, and took additional lessons at the Practical Training Center in Oenkerk. After college, Tineke attended STOAS University in Dronten where she received further training in equine management and education. In The Netherlands Tineke received training in stable management, feeding, worming, hoof care, grooming, and equine first aid. Tineke was trained in driving a single horse, pairs, and four-in-hand.

Carriage Driving

Students learn to drive a horse using the Achenbach system, which allows one to drive a horse with a single hand, if necessary. Students also learn to harness and unharness a horse. Anyone age 16 or over who likes to work with horses can learn to drive a horse. Driving lessons consist of ten three-hour lessons. Lessons are offered to a maximum of six participants per class. The cost of driving lessons is $500 per person.

                Lungeing Lessons

In lungeing lessons students learn to train and correct a horse on a long rein. Lungeing is very important for carriage horses, dressage horses, jumping horses, or for breaking a horse. Anyone age 16 or over who likes to work with horses can learn lungeing.  Ten two-hour lessons in a group with no more than six participants are offered for $375 per person.

English Riding, Saddle Seat, Dressage, Jumping, and Trail Riding Lessons

All ages can learn to ride dressage. Instruction is offered to beginners and those who have experience.  Half-hour and 45 minute lessons are offered. A minimum of two participants is required to make a group. A breakdown of the different fees is listed below:
